Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas

They decorate the entire theme park in Christmas lights and decor to put you in the mood for the holidays. They bake gingerbread, serve hot chocolate and hot cider, and other great treats that will remind you of the holiday season. Every show is themed around Christmas, and you won’t want to miss out on the singing, dancing, and comedy. Every night, there is a parade that goes through Main Street, and your kids will be able to see Santa and his friends. There’s also a Santa meet-and-greet in the park during this time of year.

Christmas at The Titanic Museum

If you are planning a Christmas trip to the Smokies then you definitely need to take advantage of some of the great seasonal events and specials. One treat you don’t want to leave Pigeon Forge without experiencing is the Christmas Titanic with real snow! Every Saturday in December, it will snow – REAL snow – off the bow of the Titanic. The museum will be honoring the lives of the 2,208 people who died in the sinking with their exhibit “Christmas is a Winter Wonderland.” Don’t come just for the snow! The whole museum inside and out will be lit up with thousands of lights.

Winterfest

winterfest lightsEvery year, Pigeon Forge and the surrounding cities take part in Winterfest, which is a months-long event where you can drive around and see incredible themed lights. You’ll find the 12 days of Christmas, black bears, and many other themed lights. It’s fun to just drive around and see which kind of figures you’ll see and the beauty of the lights at night.

Holiday Shows

Almost every single theater in Pigeon Forge has their own Christmas show. You can watch these themed shows from November until January. They sing and perform to some of your favorite holiday songs, and many of their sketches or shows are themed around Christmas. Some shows that include a holiday show are Hatfield and McCoy  and Country Tonite.

Hang around for New Year’s Eve in Pigeon Forge

If you are still around for New Year’s, then you have 2 great options for an amazing night! Gatlinburg will be hosting the 26th people celebrating at christmasannual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks show. This takes place at the base of the Space Needle located at the intersection of Parkway and Historic Nature Trail. If you would rather stay in Pigeon Forge, you can visit The Island in Pigeon Forge for the Rockin’ New Year’s Eve Celebration. They have a free live concert with a fireworks show at midnight.
